I can do silly all day long without help or supervision. Silly was my favorite extra-curricular activity, at which I excelled in college. After silly graduate school, I honed my skills to a razor sharp edge over the following 5 decades. I take silly stuff to a new level and obsess over the minutiae. As a silly demi-god with over 50 years of experience, my CV would impress even the most serious mortal. Are my credentials sufficiently established? May I move on?
On Monday, I encouraged subscribers to encourage me to do something silly, but pregnant with political meaning. It’s not that I needed encouragement, I simply felt that making you all complicit would be vicariously satisfying. Ergo, yesterday morning after leaving the Homeboy Suites in beautiful downtown Louisville, I drove to Senator Mitch McConnell’s KY residence and took a selfie.

Everyone knows how much I appreciate all Mitch has done for the people of KY and the country. His 40 years of public service made him an icon of curmudgeonly paternalism, close-minded self-righteous indignation, and a comatose, 82-year old, zombie, poster-child for hospice. Three of his most recent dastardly accomplishments were as follows.
After conservative Justice Scalia died unexpectedly, he led the Senate’s successful effort to deny President Obama’s nomination of Merrick Garland as Alito’s replacement. He carried out this duplicitous effort with the president still having 11 months in his term.
After progressive Justice Ginsburg died, he led the successful effort to approve president 45’s nomination of Amy Barrett as Ginsburg’s replacement. He carried out this duplicitous effort with the president having only one month left in his term.
He led the effort to successfully acquit 45 after he was impeached by the House for inciting a violent insurrection on the U.S. Capitol after publicly blaming 45 for the insurrection. This effort led us to where we are today; with Felon 47 back in the White House for another 4-year reign of terror.
Thank you, Mitch, for showing us what political integrity is not.
When I read that Alito died, I was ready for the PARTAY! It was Scalia. But I quibble. I hope you did not get so close that you were touched by the rarefied air floating over the McConnell abode. You need a gas mask to get that close.
Here Hear Christina! Yes, words matter
And Wayne nice summary about the wicked ways of Mitch McConnell. Be extra careful in the spaces you go. We need your silly!
