Road trip musings
People who have been reading my wit’s end for a bit now know how appreciative I am of all the smart, defensive and careful drivers on the roads. I drove cross country from Sacramento to Durham, NC recently and just returned from a trip to WI on Tuesday after visiting family. I’ve driven cross-country 5 times and made numerous trips to Appleton, WI over the last 20 years, all without incident…until Tuesday.
Driver, passenger and pup are all fine but were shook up by a semi-driver (double entendre?) attempting to defy physics by occupying the same space we were occupying. As the driver, I chose to give him the space and do a little off-roading.
Glad you're fine. I've had the very thing happen. At first I thought it was accidental, but the second time was a 911 moment in the sense that the first world trade plane was a mishap.
